About
The Cairngorms National Park is the highest and most remote upland area in Britain, containing 5 of the 6 highest mountains in Scotland. The scenery is cut through by the purest mountain rivers and by beautiful glens lined with ancient Caledonian pine forest. Mountain Biking amid this stunning scenery is a privileged experience not to be missed, and you can be one of the lucky few to experience it!
This is a tour with fixed dates and you can sign up for the tour even if you are not meeting the minimum requirements for group size. Once you have signed up we will confirm the tour when we have enough guests to meet the minimum requirement.
It can also be booked as a private tour for a group of minimum 6 guests.

Program
Day 1
Arrival to Aberdeen airport and transfer to our base in Ballater.
Day 2
Climb and descent of Pannanich Hill, ‘heartbreak ridge’ in the morning – top rated slick rock and pine needles and loam singletrack. Lunch in Ballater village. After lunch we go for a light enduro session on the forest trails north of Ballater – Cambas O’ May and Loch Kinord.

Day 3
Climb and descent of Capel Mount into beautiful Glen Clova. The descent gives us a beautiful and rocky singletrack down to sandy shores of Loch Muick in Royal Balmoral estate.

Vertical meters: 1150m up and down
Day 5
Enduro runs close to the village of Aboybe. An excellent selection of sometimes steep, rooty, rocky enduro runs in the forests of Deeside.

Day 6
Out and back of Glen Callater and a peak called Morrone outside Braemar, an excellent high mountain singletrack which serves as a fantastic morning ride on our last day in Ballater. Lunch in Braemar village, and repeat of one of the favourite trails from the last week.

Day 7
Travel to Aberdeen in the morning where we will enjoy one of the magnificent trails in the areas around Aberdeen, before we head over to one of the many distilleries in the area for a tour and a tasting. What a way to end a week in Scotland!

Practical info
Level of difficulty
Intermediate
You’re confident in your climbing and descending skills
You can handle moderately technical terrain and obstacles such as small logs and rocks (up to 10-12 cm high).
You have very good control of your bike on intermediate and slightly more advanced terrain, and are comfortable climbing quite technical single-track
You can ride 4-6 hours a day at a moderate pace with some short breaks, over a few days
You can handle moderately steep climbs of about 1000 vertical metres in a day in average
(Levels: 5-6 skill level, 4-6 fitness level)

Meet-up for this tour is in Aberdeen.
Accommodation
On our tours twin room is the standard for almost all accommodation. On some mountain farms, huts or the like family rooms or rooms that sleep more than two might occur. If you want a single-room there might be some additional costs.
Equipment
We recommend full suspension bikes on all of our tours. We also provide rental, specially tailored for our tours. If you are interested in rental options, please contact us for more information. We will also issue use a recommended packing list as reference to get the most out of your tour!
Terms of payment
