Join us on this tour to the heart of Turkey – the old kingdom of Cappadocia on the plains of Anatolia. With its dry climate and flowy trails the area is a mecca for mountain biking. And with local guides we will show you the top tier trails in the area, and as always combined with unique cultural adventures.

This is a tour with fixed dates and you can sign up for the tour even if you are not meeting the minimum requirements for group size. Once you have signed up we will confirm the tour when we have enough guests to meet the minimum requirement.
It can also be booked as a private tour for a group of minimum 4 guests.

Program
Day 1:
Arrival to Kayseri, from where we will get a transfer to Göreme, in the middle of Cappadocia, which will serve as our base for the comign days.
Day 2:
At sunrise we will meet at the roof deck to watch the balloons float above the magical landscape. Following a hearty breakfast we climb the Meskendir Ridge up to a plateau. After we are done indulging the view we will ride the legendary «rock chute east», a gulley which runs straight through the red mountain formations. After a couple of beautiful trails we make a stop for some freshly squeezed juice, and a visit to one of the old cave churches. We climb up the Meskendir valley again before we have lunch, and after lunch we will get a tour in the impressive museum in Göreme.
Day 3:
This is the day to ride in a hot air balloon, for those who would like to do that during the stay.
After the balloon ride and breakfast, we will jump back on the bike and ride some particularly scenic trails. After lunch we will bike up to the castle of Uchisar, and the last trail of the day will take us down to the Lover’s valley!
We finish the day with a wine tasting from the local producer Kocabag.
Day 4:
We will spend the first half of the day enjoying some more flowy trails, before we visit the underground city of Kaymakli. It consists of 8 floors, of which 4 are open to the public. It is assumed that the caves are over 5000 years old, and that more than 3500 people lived here.
Day 5:
Shuttle-day! We get uplifts from Göreme to a natural pumptrack in Gomeda valley. We follow the riverbed down to Üzengi valley where we will be picked up and transport back to Uchisar. We get another uplift to a trail which ends at the fantastic Zemi valley.
After lunch we climb up to Bozdag – a mountain looking like the Grand Canyon. We enjoy a scenic trail on the ridge above Cauvusin, where we will be picked up and transported back to Göreme.
Day 6:
For the last day we will do a rerun of some of our favourite trails from the last week.
Day 7:
Transfer back to Kayseri and return home.
Practical info
Intermediate
You’re confident in your climbing and descending skills
You can handle moderately technical terrain and obstacles such as small logs and rocks (up to 10-12 cm high).
You have very good control of your bike on intermediate and slightly more advanced terrain, and are comfortable climbing quite technical single-track
You can ride 4-6 hours a day at a moderate pace with some short breaks, over a few days
You can handle moderately steep climbs of about 1000 vertical metres in a day in average
(Levels: 5-6 skill level, 4-6 fitness level)

Meet-up for this tour is in Kayseri.
Accommodation
On our tours twin room is the standard for almost all accommodation. On some mountain farms, huts or the like family rooms or rooms that sleep more than two might occur. If you want a single-room there might be some additional costs.
Equipment
We recommend full suspension bikes on all of our tours. We also provide rental, specially tailored for our tours. If you are interested in rental options, please contact us for more information. We will also issue use a recommended packing list as reference to get the most out of your tour!
Terms of payment
